At Radiant Relief Foundation, we believe that no one should be denied the chance to fulfill their calling in life because of circumstances beyond their control. Last year, we were deeply moved by the story of Mr. Stanislaus Nduba, a Catholic seminarian who faced a life-altering health challenge.
His Story
Stanislaus sustained a serious knee injury during a football game that left him unable to walk or stand for more than a few minutes. After extensive medical evaluations at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, he was diagnosed with meniscal injury and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) degeneration—conditions that required urgent surgical intervention.
The surgery was scheduled to take place under the care of orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ajibola Oladiran, but the cost of treatment was far beyond his means. Coming from a poor background, and with his diocese unable to cover the expenses, Stanislaus faced the heartbreaking reality of being forced to abandon his seminary vocation because of his injury.
Our Intervention
When his request reached us through the kind referral of Rev. Fr. Emmauel Alao, we knew we could not ignore it. Radiant Relief Foundation stepped in and fully funded the surgery. We considered it not just financial support, but an act of restoring dignity, faith, and hope to someone whose life was at a painful standstill.
The Outcome
Thanks to the successful surgery, Stanislaus is now on the path to recovery. With restored health, he has regained the ability to walk and move freely, and most importantly, he has been given the opportunity to continue pursuing his vocation.
Why This Matters
This story reminds us that sometimes, all it takes is one act of kindness to change the trajectory of a person’s life. Stanislaus’ journey is a testimony that the support of compassionate hearts can heal not just the body, but also the spirit and dreams of those in need.
At Radiant Relief Foundation, we are committed to ensuring that stories like his are not silenced by financial barriers. We remain dedicated to extending a helping hand to the vulnerable—whether they are children, students, the disabled, or, as in this case, a seminarian with a sacred calling.
Together, we can keep changing lives and restoring hope, one person at a time.
